Kansas Veteran & Public Servant
Meet Daniel Schneider
Veteran. Father. Public servant. Daniel Schneider is standing up for southeast Wichita and House District 88.
Daniel Schneider grew up in Wichita, the son of a working-class parents who taught him the value of honesty, hard work, and helping your neighbors. Daniel’s father, a Vietnam Navy veteran, and later union Boeing worker and mother, a homemaker on disability for a back injury showed Daniel the value of hard-work and a hand-up. When Daniel was young, his family lived in Plainview and were the recipient of food stamps. Through perseverance, and a union fighting for them, Daniel saw his parents work there way out of poverty.
A product of Wichita Public Schools, Daniel graduated from Wichita East High School and attended classes at Wichita State University before graduating from Washburn University with a degree in Mass Media/Public Relations.Â
In 2006 Daniel answered his countries call for services, and enlisted in the US Army Reserve, becoming the third generation in his family to serve. Daniel was deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Public Affairs Specialist. His job was to tell the stories of those serving on the front lines, and it taught him lasting lessons about truth, teamwork, and courage under pressure.
A Record of Service at Home
When Daniel returned home to Kansas, he didn’t hang up that commitment to serve. He went to work for a while as a postal carrier and member of the postal carriers union before going to work for the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service. There helped Kansans cut through red tape and hold government accountable. Whether it was a farmer waiting months for a refund or a small business owner struggling with paperwork, Daniel saw firsthand how a government meant to serve people too often forgets who it’s there for.
Daniel’s life experiences shaped his belief that government should be efficient, transparent, and fair — working for working families, not the well-connected.
Why He's Running
Daniel took an oath to defend the Constitution, and he continues to honor it. He is running for Kansas House District 88 because:
-
Families are being squeezed by rising costs.
-
Public schools are under attack and underfunded.
-
The freedoms Kansans voted to protect are still under threat.
-
Too many politicians follow party orders instead of serving their communities.
House District 88 deserves a representative who will show up for every neighborhood — and fight for every family.
Faith, Family, and Kansas Roots
Today, Daniel and his wife Joan, an attorney who serves veterans, live in Wichita. They have 4 daughters who’ve all graduated from or are attending Wichita public schools. They are members of the Presbyterian church and Daniel is a member of the choir. They believe in hard work, faith, fairness, and the simple Kansas idea that you look out for your neighbors and keep your word.
